Carter Brandes Obituary – Douglas “Doug” Carter Brandes kicked the bucket on May 13, 2016, in New Braunfels, Texas. She was brought into the world in Westhoff, Texas on August 10, 1920, to Roy and Nichol Pearce Carter. She moved on from Southwest Texas University also known as Texas State University in 1941, showed school in Weimar, Texas during World War II where she met her first love, Leslie E. Brandes.
They have been hitched for 69 years. Doug was dynamic in PTA for a long time, was a grown-up pioneer for 4-H exercises, played a functioning job in province reasonable occasions, and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. Doug joined the Alice Study Club in 1950, filled in as President twice, and was the Mistress of Ceremonies for the 30th, 40th, and 50th festivals, and served in different limits. Doug was exceptionally dynamic in the First United Methodist Church of Alice, in Alice, Texas. She was President of UMW, circle director a few times, served on the Administrative Council and Board of Trustees. In 2000, she was the main thrust in getting the First United Methodist Church of Alice Endowment Fund began, which she filled in as President of once it turned into a reality in November 2001.
Later in 2001, she was granted the District Discipleship grant by the McAllen North District. Doug had two fundamental interests; one was playing span and was an individual from two clubs in Alice. She was consistently happy to substitute also in different clubs when a player was required. The difference was cooking, which she wanted to do every day and particularly when the organization was welcomed over. Doug is made due by her better half, Les, child Richard and the little girl in-law, Lynda, from New Braunfels, Texas, child, Russell from Sugar Land, Texas, two-stage grandkids, Josh Holden and Jessica Paige Rollins, niece Debbie Rix Coleman of Nixon, two incredible nieces, Stephanie Coleman Quinn and Jessica Coleman Caglia, three extraordinary incredible nieces, two incredible extraordinary nephews, and numerous long-lasting companions.
