Jay Phillips Obituary – Jay M. Phillips, 49, passed on unexpectedly Sunday, February first at Mercy Hospital. Burial service Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February fifth at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with Reverend Diane Townsley administering. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. The appearance will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the memorial service home.
Instead of blossoms, the Jay Phillips Children’s Educational Fund has been set up at the University of Iowa Community Credit Union. Jay was conceived on January 5, 1966, in Iowa City, the child of Robert and Donna Mae Thompson Phillips. He was 1984 alumni of West Branch High School and got a partner degree from Kirkwood Community College. Jay served in the United States Navy onboard the USS Constellation. On September 4, 1993, Jay was joined in union with Christine Myers at the Oxford United Methodist Church.
Jay was utilized as an electrical professional at the VA Medical Center, and preceding that had been utilized at CEC in Iowa City for a long time.
Jay was an individual from the Coralville American Legion. He had an incredible comical inclination, jumped at the chance to golf, ride his bike, and bike, read, and do family projects. Generally imperative to Jay was his adoration for Christine, their kids, and his family.
