Jennifer Hudson and Chris Stapleton Duet Video – Institute Award-winning entertainer and artist Jennifer Hudson gave a show-halting execution at the 2021 CMA Awards, collaborating with numerous champ Chris Stapleton for a deep mixture of “Night Life” and “You Are My Sunshine.” Hudson, who plays Aretha Franklin in the new biopic Respect, gave her first presentation at the CMA Awards with Franklin’s game plan of Willie Nelson’s “Night Life,” getting the melody going low and slow prior to inclining it up with bold horn hits and hazardous vocal runs. Stapleton participates behind Hudson on guitar.
Following a short break, the second 50% of the presentation highlighted Stapleton’s burning hot interpretation of “You Are My Sunshine,” which he and spouse Morgane recorded for Dave Cobb’s multi-craftsman Southern Family project. Hudson tolled in with some taking off advertisement libs of her own before the melody moved from a blues mix to a full jog.
Stapleton started the evening attached with Eric Church for the occasion’s most designations, including Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year (which he won), and Male Vocalist of the Year.
