Jim Chalupsky Obituary – Passed away! James “Jim” E. Chalupsky, 71, of Shueyville, kicked the bucket Saturday, September 25, 2021. The Celebration of Life social event will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, situated at 2121 Bowling Street SW. A Celebration of Life will start at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021, at The Secret Cellar, 1205 Curtis Bridge Road, Swisher. Internment will continue in Shueyville Cemetery. There will be a potluck gathering following the internment at The Secret Cellar. Dress is casual.
Jim was conceived July 28, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, the child of Edward and Dolores (Horsch) Chalupsky. Jim moved on from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, class of 1969. Jim was joined in union with Joan Johnson on May 28, 1969, at St. Ludmila’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. He worked at Linkbelt FMC, Divine Engineering, and Goss Manufacturing prior to beginning Chalupsky Landscaping and Nursery in 1989 with his significant other Joan.
