Scratch was brought into the world in Pittsburgh, PA to Joseph and Rachel Donato. He moved on from Westinghouse High School where he was a fine competitor and kept on playing softball into his 60s.
Scratch resigned from Westinghouse Electric, Plant Apparatus Division, after 30+ long periods of administration. He was an individual from Holy Angels Church, effectively filling in as an Eucharistic Minister for almost thirty years.
