Derek Laplante Obituary – Troy-Lawrence R. LaPlante Sr., 72, of Griswold Heights, passed on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at his home. Brought into the world in Rutland, VT, he was the child of the late Joseph LaPlante and Marjorie (Willis) LaPlante and spouse of the late Jeanette Kachidurian LaPlante.
Brought up in Rutland, Vermont, he had dwelling 54 years in Troy and was instructed at St. Joseph’s Academy in Rutland, Vermont.
Mr. LaPlante was utilized as a material laborer at the previous Colonie Fiber.
He was an eager games devotee and delighted in bowling. He was an Army Infantry veteran of the Korean War.
He is made due by a little girl, Jean-Ann Bridger (Derek Sr.) of Cohoes; a child, Joseph R. LaPlante of Troy; a child in-law, David Harlow of Watervliet; three siblings, Max LaPlante of CA, Edward LaPlante Sr. of Troy and John LaPlante Sr. of Rutland, VT; two sisters, Helen Lancour of Summerville, SC and Madeline LeValley of San Francisco, CA.; many cherishing grandkids; 7 incredible grandkids and a few nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a little girl, Virginia M. Harlow.
Burial service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Michael Crandall, directing.
